The three that matter most

Every washable rug is a tradeoff between three things, in this order.

The wash system. Two-piece systems (Ruggable-style) wash only the thin cover, so even a 9x12 stays practical. Single-piece rugs wash whole — easy up to 8x10 in a large home machine, a laundromat trip above that.

The backing. A rubberized non-slip backing holds the rug on tile and hardwood with no pad. No backing means buying a pad.

The pile. Low pile washes easier, dries faster, releases pet hair, and clears doors. Medium pile feels better underfoot and hides more.
